This usually happens when you are trying to sign up using the same IP address as another WA member. This could also happen if you are using the same computer to sign up as an active WA member is using. The reason why there is only 1 user per ip address is because people try to game the system and make multiple accounts so they can cheat and be dishonest.
Wealthy Affiliate was launched in 2005 and it has been growing and improving for all these years. The founders invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into the platform every single year. When I first joined in 2007 the site looked completely different and I must admit, it had less training and less support. They had less tools and the site navigation was complicated.
A: I get this question a lot! Unfortunately there is no answer to it. There are so many variables that it’s simply impossible to estimate the timeline of success. It all depends on your work ethics, your ability to take action, the industry (or niche) that you will create your business is, the amount of work you’re willing to put in and many many many other factors. I have seen people start making money with their online business in their first week, I have seen many others who took 6 months to see their first sale.
If you set your mind to it you can achieve anything if you are willing to work hard at it. 80% of people who start out in affiliate marketing end up failing because they either don’t have the right training or they get overwhelmed with everything you need to learn to succeed in this business. If you are willing to work hard at this you can make lots of money but it’s not going to come easy.
Focusing on relevant products makes it easier to make quality referrals because there’s a nice overlap between your audience and the product you’re promoting. If you’re a fitness blogger, for example, it wouldn’t exactly fit in with the rest of your content if you started promoting video games and electronics that aren’t applicable to your niche. Instead, you might find a company whose products focus on protein powders, vitamins, workout equipment, etc.
If you research any successful millionaire entrepreneur you will realize that they constantly learn new things. They attend seminars, hire coaches, read books, meet experts in their field – they stay updated and learn something new every single day. There hasn’t been a single time that I came to Wealthy Affiliate and haven’t learned something new – this is the reason I am still a member and still excited every time I log into my account.
The thing that sets Wealthy Affiliate apart from all the other programs out there that are scams is that they teach you the proper way to start a business online. There is no hype or hidden promises that you will be a millionaire within your first week like 99% of all the other programs out there. The training program that walks you through all of this is Free to get started and your starter membership comes packed with everything you need to start making money online.
Sometimes, individual entrepreneurs with great products are worth a look, although you should check them out first and do some research. Entrepreneurs or companies may run their own affiliate program and you can apply directly to them to promote their products and services. Finally, Amazon is always an option as you can be an affiliate for just about any type of physical product on their network.
The entire reason I created this site is because as an affiliate marketer, I started getting upset with the lack of ethics and misinformation being spread from MANY affiliate marketers, especially as it pertains to the “make money online” niche. So many online marketers out there promise you quick easy money if you just sign up and pay for this or that. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it. Growing an affiliate marketing business is just like starting any other business – it takes time, effort, and a lot of trial and error. I won’t get into it here, but if you’d like you can read my honest article about how long it takes to earn a full-time living with affiliate marketing.
I am not actually a complete newbie but haven’t made money online yet. I have in my arsenal so far, all it takes to do this business, a self hosted WP site, an auto responder, few great tools and products, premium plugins and themes, a twitter handle , a FB page, a g+ account and a u-tube channel, all branded in my with my logo. Just crossing my t’s and dotting my i’s before launching.
I’m glad you are interested in learning more about WA and I can tell you from my own personal experience that if you work hard at this you WILL start to see results. I have been doing this for a little over 2 years now and I have grown my business quite a bit in that time. This is in no way a get rich quick scheme, but a legitimate way for you to build something up that you can be proud of.
I'm thinking about building a new site and partnering with someone. We would split the commission 50/50 and we would have to talk and see how to split up the work based on our skill sets. I would own the domain and you would open the affiliate accounts and receive the payment. After the payment is issued, you send me my half. Or we could have a joint PayPal account and divvy up the payments from there (I do this now with a friend and it works well). And of course, I would give preference to premium Wealthy Affiliate members when picking a partner because I know they know their stuff.
It’s actually $47 and as I have said below in my other comment. You can get your first month for only $19 and get complete access to the premium membership at this discounted price. The reason why there is a recurring fee is because each and every month you are going to be getting new training and updated courses about how to start a business online. This is a subscription website and you are going to be trained on how to make money online. It is also an online college and you are paying for an education but at a much discounted price.
Promote products that are stepping stones to products you will create in the future. This is a bit more advanced, but is a great way to think ahead. Amy Porterfield suggests thinking about the first thing your followers will need in order to get started with what you provide. For example, I teach people how to blog, so the first thing they need to start a blog is hosting. That’s why I am an affiliate for hosting.

One of the best review I have seen online in recent years! It is so simply written and so motivating. I am planning to join the WA, but as it happens, being a bit scared if it will give a return. As I am living in India, there is no free program for us so I need to pay out $49 in first month. Let see what happens. Currently thinking of a Niche, and that I will start off! Thanks for the review
Thanks for all the information I am slowly working my way through your list of do’s and donts! ! I’ve been approached by a website that wants to develop editorial content for my blog featuring home improvement tips from their”national client” and pay me $40 a year for reviewing and publishing their content. Boy, I am just not sure how this all works? Any words for when we are approached by others to write for our blogs?
Premium membership costs you $19 the first month (if you take advantage of the 59% discount during the first 7 days after joining) and $47 the following months. You may cancel at any time, if you wish to do so. If you decide to pay on a yearly basis, the Premium membership will cost you $359. That would save you $205 than if you paid $47 per month during a year ($47 x 12 months = $564; $564 – $359 = $209 in savings, seems like a good deal!).
Use your personal words & experience with the product. Your own content, or photos & videos of yourself using the product are always the most effective. For example, many affiliate programs provide swipe copy to their affiliates which is pre-written emails, post material or social media posts. These can be helpful as a guide, but they often scream swipe copy, aren’t written in your voice (the one your readers know!) and if a lot of affiliates are using it, are overdone.
Wealthy Affiliate is also very strict on spam, which in the end is a GOOD thing, but I have to be careful sometimes about promoting my sites or referencing them. Sometimes I do have valuable information on my site that I think could help people during live chat sessions or Q&A’s, but I don’t share because I don’t want it to look like I’m spamming. They do allow people to promote their sites in certain areas, but in order to keep the community from filling up with self-promotion spam, there are times when it is best not to share certain information from outside sources, especially my own sites.
So a question I have, just because it didn’t jump into my eyes – does this Wealthy Affiliate Program also include knowledge about list-building? Because this is what i get so far – I should build a following by providing some kinda value to people that click on ads that I place on the internet.. I know – you can’t explain everything – but my question is – do you think I find “everything” here kinda “step-by-step”. Seen that you don’t call SFM a SCAM leaves me unsure, if I should go on a while – and just stay cirtical. What’s your opinion?
Despite its older origins, email lists are still a viable source of affiliate marketing income. Some affiliates have email lists they can use to promote the seller’s products. Others may leverage email newsletters that include hyperlinks to products, earning a commission after the consumer purchases the product. Another method is for the affiliate to cultivate email lists over time. They use their various campaigns to collect emails en masse, then send out emails regarding the products they are promoting.
I think you did a great job with this review of Wealthy Affiliate. You pretty much covered everything but what I like the most about your review is how you included not only your own testimonial but also those of other successful Wealthy Affiliates who are making money online. This just goes to show that you can really make money online by applying the training and lessons taught by WA.
Easy to start: The investment required to get into affiliate marketing is not much. Apart from the costs associated with buying a domain and hosting it, there is no other cost involved except for maybe a tool or two (such as benchmarking tools to test product performance, and the like) which would still not put a dent in your wallet. You can write the articles by yourself; if you think writing is not something up your alley, you can outsource the content to freelance writers.
ANOTHER marketing scheme for you to harrass your friends with and beg them to work-from-home and make money by blogging about what they 'love', when they will really end up monitoring one blog, the one that pays them for every fool who follows that yellow brick to Wealthy Affiliates and the dope behind the curtain. If you know anything about internet marketing already, you will see right through this.
As a premium Wealthy Affiliate member you do get access to building up to 50 websites, this does include hosting. Domain names are not included as that’s something that’s not owned or controlled by WA. All domain names are created and controlled by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). You can purchase the domain names directly through WA or your favorite domain re-seller. Typical cost is about $12-$14 per year, per domain. Is The Wealthy Affiliate University A Scam?
